Ghost integration
Connect Ghost through a custom integration and publish OverSerp posts with the Admin API.
OverSerp publishes to Ghost using the Admin API and a custom integration key. It works with Ghost(Pro) and self-hosted Ghost 5.x.
Step 1: Create a custom integration
- In Ghost admin open Settings → Integrations.
- Click Add custom integration and name it
OverSerp.
Step 2: Copy the credentials
On the integration screen copy:
- API URL, for example
https://yourblog.ghost.io - Admin API key, in the format
id:secret
Do not use the Content API key; it's read-only.
Step 3: Connect in OverSerp
- Open your site → Integrations → Ghost.
- Paste the API URL and the Admin API key.
- Choose
PublishorDraft. - Save. OverSerp signs a short-lived token with your key and checks access to your site.
What gets published
| Ghost field | Value |
|---|---|
| Title | Article title |
| Slug | SEO slug |
| Content | HTML (converted to Ghost's editor format by Ghost) |
| Custom excerpt | Excerpt (max 300 characters) |
| Meta description | Meta description |
| Code injection (head) | Article + FAQPage JSON-LD |
| Status | published or draft |
Troubleshooting
“Admin API key must look like id:secret”: you pasted the Content API key or only part of the Admin key.
401 / invalid token: the key was regenerated in Ghost. Copy the new one.
Custom integrations unavailable: your Ghost(Pro) plan doesn't include integrations. Upgrade or use the webhook.
